CLAUDE LALANNE

Claude Lalanne (1925- 2019) is a French artist who studied at the School of Decorative Arts. She creates sculptures, armchairs, bars, bustiers and fashion accessories in a whimsical and poetic style.

Her sculpture L'homme à tête de chou served as a source of inspiration for Serge Gainsbourg. The Lalanne garden of which she is the architect or the busts of the Veruschka model created for Yves Saint Laurent are flagship creations of the artist. Indeed, Yves Saint Laurent became her sponsor and friend from 1965 until his death. His works can be found in prestigious art collections such as those of the Noailles and Rothschilds.

In 2010, her work will be shown alongside that of her husband in a major retrospective at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
